Servo Strengthener Version 2
Home/Store/Universal
Product Details

Redesigned servo strengthener using Chris Willsey's design to bring you even more strength to your servo.

Servo strengthener used to make your GT3, NSDRC/HH, HS 7980 or Futaba A700 twice as strong.

One purchase will do one servo.

You will need to program your servo so it has 180* of throw.

This product is universal but you may need to modify to fit your specific application. At this time no screws are supplied to attach the plate to the servo mount since there are many different styles of mounts therefore needing different length screws for each application.

Instructions:

Install should take about 5 min to put the parts on the servo. You will want to pay extra special attention to your geometry and get everything perfect including the drag link length.

To install:
Install the brass servo gear onto the servo output

First take the aluminum gear and screw the carbon fiber steering arm to it.

Take the assembly of the screw/post/bearings and shims and notice how it is all installed when you got it. This is how it will go back together.

Install the flat screw into the countersunk hole in the carbon fiber plate. Slide the aluminum sleeve onto the screw with the flange down, Slide one bearing onto the aluminum sleeve with the flange side DOWN, install the supplied shim on top of this bearing, Slide the large aluminum hub gear over the bearing you just put on. Slide the 2nd bearing over the aluminum hub gear with the flange side DOWN. Tighten all this down with the supplied nut.

Install carbon fiber plate onto the servo using the 3d printed spacer between the carbon fiber plate and servo ears.

As said above, you will want to make sure your geometry is proper. This means nice straight lines and you do not want your steering to cam over when steering away from the servo. If you have larger angles going from the steering arm to the knuckle or if your drag link cams over at full throw, it can stress the CF plate and ruin your mesh causing problems.

The best way I have found to make it so the steering does not cam over is to set everything up so that when steering towards the servo that the rod end will touch the CF plate at full throw. If you do this and it still cams over on the other end, you need to step up to the next larger steering arm until it does not cam over.

Below is a picture showing that the servo bottoms out just barely hitting the CF plate when it swings towards the servo side.
If you take a look at this picture, this is they type of straight lines we are looking for

Something like this with a large angle drag link will NOT work
